Westwood Environmental Action Committee (WEAC) serves as an advisory committee to the Select Board. The mission of WEAC is to promote energy and resource conservation, renewable energy, water conservation, green buildings, more efficient vehicles, tree planting, recycling and environmental education in the Town of Westwood. The Committee brings environmental issues to the Select Board's attention and works with them on solutions that benefit the town and its residents.

WEAC Projects

WEAC assists with many projects each year including:
• Community Choice Electricity (more information below)
• Solar initiatives, such as the high school solar array
• DPW collaborations, such as the recycling bin stickers
• Westwood Climate Action, Resiliency and Sustainability Plan
• Annual furniture donation event in partnership with New Life Furniture Bank of MA
• Town-wide Earth Day cleanup campaign
• Repair Cafe events
• EV Cars & Coffee events
• Collaboration with Westwood High School’s Youth Climate Action Coalition (YCAC)

Community Electricity Aggregation
Westwood Community Choice Electricity (CCE) is a program offered by the town of Westwood to provide new electricity supply options and more renewable energy to Westwood residents and businesses.
