Until further notice: All Fields (Town or School Property and including the High School and Deerfield Tracks), Playgrounds, Tennis Courts and Basketball Courts are CLOSED

The following public buildings are closed to the public: Town Hall, Public Library, Council on Aging, ICC/Youth & Family Services, Carby Street which includes Public Works, Building Department and Economic Development, Recreation Department including the pool.  

A green drop box is located in front of Town Hall for residents to drop off payments and other correspondence.  

Westwood Environmental Action Committee (WEAC) serves as an advisory committee to the Board of Selectmen. The Committee identifies environmental issues to the Board of Selectmen attention to work with them on solutions that benefit the town and its residents.  The mission of WEAC is to promote energy and resource conservation, renewable energy, water conservation, green buildings, more efficient vehicles, tree planting, recycling and environmental education in the Town of Westwood.  

WEAC Projects

WEAC sponsors several projects each year including the Electronics Recycling event in May and the town wide Earth cleanup campaign in April..  

Community Electricity Aggregation

WEAC and the Select Board are sponsoring a warrant article for the Spring 2019 Town Meeting for the town to enter into a contract with a broker for Community Electricity Aggregation.  Additional information about this proposal can be found HERE.   

May is BYOB Month

To raise awareness about the impact of single-use bags and reduce their use, the Select Board, in collaboration with WEAC has identified May 2019 as "Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB) Month".  Click here for additional information.
