Mission Statement
The Mission of the Westwood Council on Aging (COA) is to identify and serve the diverse needs of all Westwood citizens 60 years and older. Designing programs that impact the mind, body and spirit of older adults requires understanding the range of their needs, economic levels, and physical capabilities. Outreach services are available to help maintain seniors’ independence and dignity.
Outreach social services are also available for fuel and food assistance to all Westwood residents regardless of age.
The Council shares these goals with the community and elicits their support to implement programs that address health, nutrition, safety and security, as well as travel, entertainment, culture, and education. The COA offers a transportation initiative for Westwood seniors five days a week which includes rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping, area errands and to the Senior Center.
