Attention homeowners.

In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 148, section 10A; 23 and 24 and the Massachusetts Comprehensive Fire Safety Code, 527 CMR 1.00, Chapter 11.5.1.8. a permit and inspection by the local fire department are required for the following;

• Installation or alteration of any fuel oil burning equipment
• Storage of fuel oil in excess of ten gallons used in connection with an oil burner
• Installation or removal of a fuel storage tank (unless otherwise provided in 527 CMR, Chapter 66.)
