WMC Welcomes New Executive Director Sean Corcoran

Westwood Media Center Executive Director Sean CorcoranWestwood, MA — The Westwood Media Center is pleased to invite community members, local leaders, and media professionals to a special Meet & Greet event welcoming its new Executive Director, Sean Corcoran, on Wednesday, April 22 from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Main Library in Westwood.

This gathering offers a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with Sean, learn about his vision for the future of community media in Westwood, and join in celebrating the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the organization. The evening will feature light refreshments and plenty of time for conversation and collaboration.

Sean Corcoran brings nearly two decades of experience in public media leadership, newsroom management, and innovative storytelling. Since February 2022, he has served as Executive News Director at KUNC, Northern Colorado’s NPR affiliate, where he led a 20-person multimedia newsroom producing daily broadcasts, long-form features, and special series. Under his leadership, KUNC was named 2024 Radio Station of the Year by the Colorado Broadcasters Association and received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for General Excellence (Region 3), along with five additional Murrow Awards in 2024.

Previously, Sean served as Senior Managing Editor for News at WGBH in Boston, where he helped oversee a 100-person radio and television newsroom. During his tenure, he guided editorial direction across major daily programs and collaborated with WBUR to launch a local segment for NPR’s Consider This podcast. He also served as Executive Producer of the acclaimed podcast The Forgetting: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s.

Earlier in his career, Sean spent a decade at WCAI-FM, the NPR station serving Cape Cod and the Islands, where he worked as News Director, Broadcast Reporter, and Radio Host.
