Associate Planning Board Member Application Process
The Westwood Planning Board has two openings for an Associate Planning Board member. The Associate Planning Board members will participate on applications on an as needed basis. The Associate Planning Board members will only need to attend Planning Board meetings when designated by the Planning Board Chair to participate on applications when needed. An Associate Member may be called to participate on certain Special Permit, Subdivision, or other applications when an elected Board member cannot participate because they are on vacation, absent, out sick, or have a conflict of interest. The Planning Board typically meets twice a month on Tuesday evenings. The Associate Membership is a three year appointment. Experience with land use, zoning, engineering, and service on a municipal board or commission is encouraged and desirable.
This is an opportunity to serve your community and participate in the operation of Town government. If you are interested in becoming an Associate Planning Board member, please send a letter of interest and resume to the Board of Selectmen’s office by September 29, 2018 at firstname.lastname@example.org. Interested applicants will be invited to attend a public meeting where the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board will interview and vote on the Associate Member candidates. If you have questions about the Associate Planning Board member position, please contact Abby McCabe, Town Planner at 781-251-2581 or email@example.com
