MassDOT Advisory: Dedham Street in Canton
Overnight, off-peak lane closure on Dedham Street throughout next week
Occurring nightly from 8 p.m., through 5 a.m.
CANTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that throughout next week, there will be an off-peak, overnight lane closure on Dedham Street in Canton in the area between the bridge over the MBTA/Amtrak rail line and 770 Dedham Street.
This lane closure will be implemented nightly from 8 p.m., through 5 a.m., beginning on Sunday, August 13, and ending on the morning of Saturday, August 19. The normal traffic configuration of one lane of travel in each direction will be in place during the daytime hours.
This temporary, short-term traffic impact will allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively conduct construction operations. An alternating, single-lane of travel will be in place for both the east and westbound directions during this time, and law enforcement details will be in place to guide drivers.
Drivers are encouraged to make informed decisions before heading out onto the roadways. Those traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
