Public Safety Overview

The Public Safety departments are tasked to protect, promote and sustain the health and well-being of residents. In order to accomplish such important directives, Public Safety departments react, organize and communicate between departments and with residents. Public Safety Departments are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • emergency preparedness; planning and training for all types of emergencies and organize the volunteer Medical Reserve Corps.
  • enforcing state laws and regulations around safety including those for food establishments, swimming pools, Title V, etc. 
  • public health and education efforts on communicable disease prevention.
