Westwood Fire Department
The Fire Department works closely with many other departments and boards within the Town. The goals and responsibilities of the Westwood Fire Department include, but are not limited to:
- protecting life and property from fire through prevention, education and suppression
- protecting life from medical emergencies and traumatic injuries
- protecting life, property and the environment from hazardous materials and other man made or natural disasters
- enforce fire safety laws and regulations
The Westwood Fire Department provides protection for the lives and property of the residents of Westwood, those employed in the town, as well as the many thousands who pass through on our highways every day.
The Fire Department responds to fires, natural and man-made disasters, hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle collisions and emergency medical calls.
The Department consists of 2 fire stations located in town. Headquarters is located at 637 High Street (Rte. 109) and Station 2 is located at 300 Washington Street (Rte. 1A). Both stations are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Advanced Life Support Ambulance, Ladder 1 and Engine 5 respond out of Headquarters as front line pieces in Districts 1 and 3.
Engine 2 responds to any emergency calls in District 2, including the industrial park, railroad station, and Rte. 128.
