Energy Savings 2017

The Town of Westwood was awarded a $183,136 Green Communities Grant by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. The grant will allow funding to support a new building control system at Martha Jones Elementary School, conversion of lighting in the High School hallways to LED, new LED lighting for the Town pool and variable speed drives for the Town pool. The Town is able to support these improvements with the Green Communities Grant funding and an additional $52,000 in Eversource incentives. 

Solar Energy 2017

Solar Panels were installed at Westwood High School, Thurston Middle School, Martha Jones Elementary and Downey Elementary. The expected annual energy savings is 730,00 kWh resulting an a budget savings of approximately $100,000. An interactive kiosk has been installed at Westwood High School, allowing students to see how much energy the solar panels are generating.
