Over the years, the residents of Westwood have celebrated Earth Day by showing some community pride with a town-wide cleanup. Plans are underway for this year’s Earth Day activities. Please visit here soon for more information.
Westwood Community Trails program recruits and trains volunteers, organizes and promotes trail programs and activities, and encourages Westwood residents to explore and enjoy our outdoor resources in a fun, safe, healthy, community-building manner.
Take A Hike
Join experienced guides as they lead monthly hikes exploring the beautiful areas throughout Westwood. No need to sign up, all are welcome.
Dates, times and locations for upcoming hikes:
Saturday, April 6, 10:00 a.m. at Strawberry Hill Trail at Hale. Meet at the Powissett Lodge Parking area on Carby Street for a 2.5 for a mile hike.
Saturday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. Lowell Woods off Sandy Valley Road. Meet at the parking area at the end of Sandy Valley Road for a 3.6 mile hike.
Adopt a Trail
Interested in helping maintain some of Westwood’s scenic routes? Consider Adopting a Trail! The Westwood Community Trails committee is looking for individuals, families or groups who would be interested in keeping trails clean and doing light trimming (handheld tools only).
